Bagatela was shaped by the daily demands of newspaper design. Originally commissioned for the Colombian economic journal La República, it had to give complex information a credible voice while helping designers organize a busy page.
Its slightly condensed proportions make economical use of space, and details such as ink traps reflect the practical conditions behind its drawing. The family’s development considered the different roles typography plays within a publication, from sustained reading to emphasis and hierarchy. This editorial background gives Bagatela a composed, purposeful character. Consider it for newspapers, magazines, reports and publications where substantial content needs a clear structure and a recognizable personality. Its sophistication comes from decisions that serve the page and the people reading it.
